Visitor & Contractor Policy
Visitors, Contractors and Sub-Contractors
The Visitors, Contractors and Sub-Contractors Health and Safety responsibilities are to;
1. Call your on-site contact to meet you upon arrival. Sign in the Visitors book at Reception and wear a visitor’s badge. By signing in, you agree to comply with the rules listed out below;
2. Provide Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of work documents where applicable if you’re a contractor working on our site.
3. You will need to read and comply with all the requirements of this Company’s Health and Safety policy. H&S Policy is on display on notice boards.
4. Follow ITW Envopak PPE policy - Safety boots and hi-vis are required in the warehouse and production areas outside of the designated walkways. Safety glasses are mandatory in all areas of the shop floor. Visitor PPE is available at points around the buildings. Safety over-shoes are kept in the office. Signage is displayed in PPE areas.
5. Follow instructions to evacuate the building in the event of fire. If you detect a fire you should sound the nearest alarm and then meet at the fire assembly point in the car park area at the main entrance. You should familiarise yourself with the fire exits and evacuation route. There are trained fire marshals on site.
6. Follow our designated walkways and pedestrian routes when walking around our buildings. We have four FLT operating in various areas of our buildings. Be alert at all times.
7. Remain polite and professional. Any aggressive or abusive visitors will be asked to leave the site immediately.
8. Return your PPE to your point of contact at the end of your visit.
9. Operate under supervision by an employee of Envopak at all times, unless expressly agreed with a member of Management.
10. Wear ear protection if visiting/working in the factory if you feel it is necessary. Our noise survey shows that the noise level is below the 85db threshold, but we have made ear protection available at the entrance to factory.
11. Report any injuries, accidents or near misses to a member of staff immediately. First Aiders are always on site and first aid boxes are kept in the warehouse and factory offices. A list of First Aiders is on display in both buildings.
Thank you, The Health & Safety Committee
