Line 1: |
− | To reduce the risk of an eye injury and to comply with ITW policy we will, with immediate effect, be introducing safety glasses to be worn in the production areas. Safety glasses have been issued and MUST be worn at all times. This applies to all members of staff, visitors and contractors. There is a safety glasses station on the wall just inside the entrance in to the factory. The SOLs on shift are responsible for enforcing this policy.
| |
| | | |
− | Side shields will also be issued for the staff members who have to wear glasses for occasional reading and writing, with normal safety glasses issued for use when carrying out non reading/writing duties.
| |
− |
| |
− | For members of staff who wear glasses all the time, we will be reimbursing up to £125 for prescription safety glasses. There is no designated optician that ITW in the UK uses, so a receipt should be provided to Amie Platts who will issue reimbursement as part of the next wage run. Should this not be feasible for individuals, SOLs should discuss with Amie and I to agree a plan of action.

− | I trust that you will fully support and follow this policy. You should be aware that any breaches of policy may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal.
